by June 5th, 2018

Despite his retirement from track and field almost one year ago legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt continues to be among the highest paid sports stars in the world.

The triple world record holder is currently ranked at number 45 among the highest paid according to the Forbes list of world’s highest paid athletes.

The greatest sprinter of all time is a marketing juggernaut with more than a dozen sponsors.

Most deals have continued in retirement. His biggest deal is with Puma, which pays Bolt more than $10 million annually.

Bolt opened his third track & records restaurant in Jamaica this year. He has a contract in place for 10-15 restaurants in the U.K. with the flagship one to open in 2018.

Meanwhile USA’S boxer Floyd Mayweather has regained his title in the Forbes rankings of the world’s top 100 earning athletes.

He earned a $275 million for his boxing match in August against UFC star Conor McGregor, who is number four on the list.

Cristiano Ronaldo – top for the past two years – drops to third, with Lionel Messi edging him out of second place.

There are no women on the list, after the previous sole entrant, Serena Williams, dropped out of the chart.

The top 100 athletes earned a total of $3.8 billion, up 23% from last year, Forbes said.
