Despite Shai Hope’s century West Indies beaten by Bangladesh in Tri-Series ODI

Despite opening batsman Shai Hope achieved another milestone on his way to his 6th one day international century the West Indies went down by 8 wickets to Bangladesh.

This in their second game of the one day international tri nation series which also includes Ireland today.

Hope led the way for the Caribbean side when he reached his 6th ODI century as the West Indies batting first made 261 for 9 from their allotted 50 overs.

He cracked 11 fours and one six on his way to 109, while putting on 115 for the third wicket with Roston Chase who made 51.

Hope reached 2000 runs in the 50 over format……securing the achievement in the least number of innings for a West Indian.

Sunil Ambris who contributed 38 was the next best in double figures.

Mashrafe Mortaza…..3 for 49 took most wickets for Bangladesh.

He was supported by Mohammad Saifuddin and Musta-fizur Rahman who took two wickets each.

Bangladesh in reply raced to 264 for 2 with five overs to spare. Opener Tamim Iqbal scored 80 runs and Souyma Sarkar 73 to steer Bangladesh to victory.

Shakib al Hasan was left unbeaten on 61 and Mushifiqur Rahim was also left not out on 32.

Shannon Gabriel and Roston Chase took the two wickets to fall.
