by October 28th, 2018

Opposition Leader Dr. Peter Phillips has called for bold, courageous and collective action against emerging regional challenges such as climate change.

Dr. Phillips noted the reality of climate change, as evidenced by the increasing number of hurricane and flooding incidents in the region.

Dr. Phillips noted that increasing instances of hurricanes have significantly impacted economies in the Caribbean.

He was speaking at the 80th annual conference of the Barbados Labour Party, in Bridgetown Barbados, this morning (Oct 28).

The BLP was founded by a group led by the federal Prime Minister, Sir Grantley Adams in 1938, the same year in which the PNP was founded under the leadership of Norman Manley.

Both the PNP and the BLP have been long time partners working for the advancement of Caribbean people.

The Opposition Leader returns to Jamaica tomorrow.
