Peter David Phillips is the President of the People’s National Party.
Dr. Phillips became the 5th President of the party following a special delegates conference at the National Arena today (Mar 26).
He will then take up the role as Opposition Leader next week.
He took the oath of office, flanked by former Presidents Portia Simpon Miller and PJ Patterson.
In the oath, Dr. Phillips pledged to unite the party.
And, new President of the PNP Dr. Phillips has trumpeted the need for unity within the party.
Dr. Phillips charged the delegate to coalesce around the tenets of the party and the ideals espoused by the four presidents which preceded him.
He has called on the various groups within the party to be active in their respective communities.
He has called for the infusion of more people into the party.
He accepted the post of President pledging to unite the party and to give a new dynamic and a new sense of purpose to the near 80 year old party.
