The promoters of the annual Dream Weekend event have called it quits on this year’s staging of the Independence party series.

Dream Weekend organizers made the announcement as promised by June 15, today, in a statement on their official social media pages.

According to the organizers, after numerous meetings and continuous dialogue with various Government Ministers in charge of overseeing the entertainment industry, they have been advised that due to the continued threat of COVID-19, large festivals such as Dream Weekend, will not be permitted to happen during the summer of 2020.

Noting that they are aware the decision may have disappointed many, they also used the opportunity to remind patrons of their no refund policy but advised that all tickets already purchased will be automatically valid for 2021. To facilitate all patrons, the organizers also stated that they will facilitate name changes on tickets, and free ticket transfers to all current ticket holders.

Dream Weekend which was slated to take place over the Independence weekend of August 5-9 in Negril, will now take place on those same dates in 2021.
