Early Childhood Commission puts forward recommendations to help early childhood institutions meet required standards

by April 28th, 2022

The Early Childhood Commission (ECC) has put forward a number of recommendations to help early childhood institutions meet required standards.

This is after a recent assessment revealed that many institutions scored below 50% on inspections.

ECC Commissioner, David Salmon says uncertified institutions should utilize their development plans.

He said the Commission also wants to see communities support the institutions and help them achieve goals.

Another recommendation is for greater partnerships with the private sector and non-governmental organizations.

Mr. Salmon says the ECC is able to provide a needs assessment for schools, in which organizations want to invest.

He said the Commission is also recommending that the Education Ministry use the inspection report as the guiding tool to determine where improvements should be made for achieving the standards, as it aims to channel more resources to the sector.
