Economist Dennis Chung, is siding with the opposition, regarding the tax revenue, that government projects to collect this fiscal year.
On Tuesday, Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke chastised the opposition, for misleading the public, by using incorrect data.
This included the opposition’s claim of a $99 billion tax revenue.
Dr Clarke said the correct amount is $65 billion.
In reacting to the ministers presentation, Mr Chung said, based on the estimates tabled in parliament, the opposition is right about the $99 billion.
In the meantime, Mr Chung expressed appreciation for the finance minister’s presentation, which, he said, is aimed at helping regular citizens better understand the country’s budget.
Mr Chung commended the government, for providing financial support for taxi operators and household electricity bills.
