Minister with responsibility for Education Karl Samuda has stated that the ministry will be moving to assist with recovery efforts at the Ardenne Prep school, following a fire at the institution.

The blaze damaged the administrative block, which includes the principal’s office.

And, Acting Operations Officer at the Kingston and St. Andrew Division, of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Assistant Superintendent Horace Thomas, says fire personnel received a call about a blaze at the school, about 1:23 this morning, and responded.

He says the building was destroyed.

A probe is underway to determine what started the fire.
