Elaine Thompson added to the stellar cast at Pre Fontaine Diamond League Classics

Sprint double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson has been added to the stellar cast of top athletes down to compete in the women’s 200 meters at the pre Fontaine Diamond League Classics in Eugene Oregon on Saturday.

Last weekend Thompson bounced back to winnings ways after she won the women’s 100 meters at the Jamaica international invitational games in 11.06 seconds.

The MVP sprinter will line up against the American pair of Torie Bowie and Alysion Felix, Shaune Miller- uibo of the Bahamas and Daphne Schippers of the Netherlands on the weekend.

The women’s 100 meters is expected to feature the decorated Jamaican veronica Campbell -brown and Simone Facey.

The pair will clash with Ivory coast’s Marie-Josée Ta Lou who holds a world leading time of 10.85 seconds, along with her team-world indoor 60 gold medalist Murielle Ahouré .

Commonwealth games champion Janieve Russell will take on a quality field over 400 meter hurdles including Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad of the United States.

Olympic sprint hurdles champion Omar Mcleod and Ronald levy will compete in the men’s 110 meters hurdles event.
