Elaine Thompson and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce heads Jamaica’s team to the Pan Am Games

Reigning Olympic sprint double champion Elaine Thompson along with two time Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce healdines a strong 30 member female track and field team for the upcoming Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru.

Thompson and Fraser Pryce who were top two in the sprint double at the recently held national championships are joined in the female sqaud by national 100 meters hurdles record holder Janeek Brown, former IAAF World Youth champion yaneek Thompson, along with World Championship medalists including Sherika Jackson, Shillonie Calvert, Stephanie Ann McPherson, Christine Day.

Also included in the female sqaud are Kimberly Williams, Shenieka Ricketts, Jonelle Smith, Rushell Clayton, Danielle Thomas Dodd, Chanice Porter, notoya Goule, Aisha Praught Leer, Anastacia Leroy and Rhonda White.

World men’s discuss leader Fredrick Dacres healdines a strong 25 member men’s squad that also includes IAAF under 20 110 hurdles silver medalist Orlando Bennett, national 400 meters champion Demish Gaye, Javon Francis, Rusheen McDonald, Akeem Bloomfield, Rasheed Dwyer, former world junior 400 meters hurdles champion, Jaheel Hyde, Julian forte.

Also included are Commonwealth Games 110 meters hurdles champion Ronald levy, former commonwealth Games Shot Putt champion Odayne Richards, Travis Smikle, Devaughn Baker, Oshane Bailey and Terry Thomas.

Danny Hawthorne will be head coach, along with assistants Lloyd Clarke, Marlon Gayle, Lamar Richards and Linval Swayby while George Forbes is the team’s manager.

The Pan Am Games run from August 6 to 11.
