Elderly woman chopped to death in St. Catherine

A 63-year-old woman of Wakefield, St. Catherine was chopped to death at her home early this morning.

 

She has been identified as Murdeline Sullivan, of Buxton Town, in Wakefield.

 

Reports from the Linstead police are that about 1:00 AM, Murdeline and her husband were sleeping when they heard a sound outside and her husband went to make checks. The husband was allegedly attacked and received injuries to his face.

 

He raised an alarm and the perpetrator escaped. His wife was later found inside their home with chop wounds all over her body.

 

Both were taken to the hospital, where Murdeline was pronounced dead. The investigation continues.

 

Murdeline is the second woman to succumb to chop wounds in recent days.

 

On Monday (Jan.31), 41-year-old Garcia Williams, a farmer of Mendez Town, Trelawny, was chopped to death on her farm.

 

Police are seeking a man with whom she had a common-law relationship in connection with the murder.
