Elderly woman who was washed away by flood waters in Sandy Gully found dead

The body of an elderly woman, who was washed away in the Sandy Gully, in St. Andrew last evening, has been found.

 

She has been identified as 75 year old Beryl Bryan of Drewsland.

 

Reports are that Ms. Bryan was swept away by flood waters, while attempting to retrieve one of her goats that had gone into the gully.

 

Head of the St. Andrew south police division Senior Superintendent Kirk Ricketts said Ms. Bryan’s body was found about 2:30 this afternoon.

 

 

He noted that the carcass of a goat was also found.

 

 

SSP Ricketts commended the efforts by both residents and the authorities in locating Ms. Bryans body.
