England‘s cricketers on Friday grabbed their lone piece of silverware on the tour of the Caribbean when they knocked off West Indies by 137 runs – to record their biggest victory in T20I history – in the second match at Warner Park in St. Kitts to move into an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three match series.
The Windies opted to field after giving Obed McKoy his debut at the expense of Oshane Thomas and had the early momentum with England reeling at 32 for 4 after 5.2 overs.
McKoy conceded 44 from his 3 overs – which yielded a wicket – as England recovered to pile up 182 for 6 from their 20 overs with Man of the Match Sam Billings cracking 10 fours and 3 sixes on his way to 87 from just 47 balls.
Joe Root was next best with 55 from 40 balls including 7 fours while Fabian Allen (2-29) ended as the Windies’ top bowler.
In reply the home team was blown away for just 45 in 11.5 overs, the second lowest total in T20I’s.
Barbadian-born Chris Jordan took a career-best 4 for 6 from his two overs (the best figures by an England bowler in T20s) to lead the Three Lions attack while Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid and David Willey all picked up two wickets each.

England with the result have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Only the Netherlands have scored fewer runs in a T20 international, making just 39 against Sri Lanka in the 2014 World T20.
This was also England’s biggest margin of victory by runs in T20s and the fourth biggest of all time.
The third and final game in the series will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
