Entertainers join government for Jamaica’s COVID-19 Telethon

A number of Jamaica’s leading entertainers will on Sunday partner with the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, for the ‘Together We Stand’ COVID-19 telethon Jamaica.

The virtual fundraising concert which will be streamed across IRIE FM, along with multiple television, radio, and social media sites, will see performances by a plethora of entertainers, encouraging fans to visit jatogetherwestand.com to donate funds, which will be used to purchase personal protective equipment (PPEs), for doctors, nurses and other front-line healthcare workers aiding in the fight against COVID-19 in Jamaica.

The virtual concert series kicked off last Sunday with a performance by reggae singer Chris Martin, and will this week get a boost from Shaggy, Buju Banton, Marcia Griffiths, Richie Spice, Jah Cure, Cat Coore, Etana, Spice, Koffee, OMI, Gyptian, Ikaya, Richie Stephens, Jesse Royal, Julian Marley, Ding Dong, Daddy 1 and R&B singer Estelle.

The concert series has also been endorsed by sports legend Usain Bolt, musicians Stephen Marley, Wyclef Jean, and Alborosie, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, former Miss World Lisa Hanna, and current Miss World Toni-Ann Singh.

‘Together We Stand’ telethon, the virtual fundraising concert, will be streamed tomorrow Easter Sunday, April 12, from 3 pm – 9 pm.
