Director of Elections Orette Fisher says there is no report of any incident during nomination day today (Oct 9).

He says all 6 candidates for the 3 constituencies for which by-election will be held, were nominated.

By-election is slated for October 30 for the St. Andrew Southern, St. Andrew South Western and St. Mary South Eastern constituencies.

Nomination of candidates was held in the three constituencies between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Fisher says one person from each of the two major political parties was nominated in all three constituencies.

He says the day went fairly smoothly.

Mr. Fisher says the EOJ is now placing focus on preparation for the election.

He says part of the preparation involves printing of ballots and training Election Day workers.
