Evin Lewis continues his rise in T/20 batting

Batsman Evin Lewis continues his rise in T/20 batting after moving 12 places in the latest MRF/ Tyres ICC/T20 International players ranking.

Lewis’ knock of 51 on the weekend in the one-off t/20 international against England helped him gain one spot to reach a career-best third position, behind leader Virat Kholi of India and Aaron finch of Australia.

The latest rankings which takes into account performances in Saturday’s  T/20international in Durham which the ‘Windies won against England by 21 runs, also saw Chris Gayle gaining four spots to move to  number 22 among the batsmen.

In the bowling department the major West Indian movers were Carlos Brathwaite who jumped 17 places to 33rd and Kesrick Williams who moved up 12th spots to 61st. Samuel Badree in sixth place and Sunil Narine 8th are the highest ranked Caribbean players.

Making the most impressive move in the bowling rankings was Pakistan batsman Babar Azam who has risen 21 spots to grab a career-best sixth position. The bowling rankings is headed by Imad Wasim also of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the ‘Windies side has overtaken England in the team rankings to move into third place with 120 points. On the other hand, England has lost four points to slip from second to fourth position with 119 points. The team ranking is headed by New Zealand with Pakistan now in second position.
