Families mourn victims of double murder in Westmoreland

Two Westmoreland families have been plunged into mourning after 2 women were killed by gunmen in White House, Westmoreland, yesterday.

 

Dead are 45-year-old Sophia Brown and 63-year-old Bernie Lewis, both of Long Hill, in White House.

 

They were attacked while at a shop in the community.

 

Sophia’s father said he heard when the shots were fired.

 

 

Sophia’s mother revealed that robbers have repeatedly targeted the shop.

 

 

Meantime, her aunt described her as a quiet, friendly person.

 

 

And, the bloodletting continued in Westmoreland today with another 2 incidents, one of which involved a police officer.

 

Details of the fatal shooting are sketchy at this time; however, the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) confirmed that investigators are on scene, in the Shrewsbury community.

 

Meanwhile, gunmen allegedly opened fire on a car in the vicinity of the Savanna la mar fire station.

 

It’s reported that a child is among the wounded.
