Female entertainers support International Men’s Day

by November 19th, 2019

Entertainers Queen Ifrica, Nadine Sutherland, and Cecile are among the handful of people who sent International Men’s Day greetings on Tuesday.

International Men’s Day (IMD) is an annual international event celebrated on November 19.

The 2019 theme for International Men’s Day is “making a difference for men and boys”. Poor mental health and high suicide rates among men is this year’s focus of the awareness day. Some celebrities already leading the way in speaking out about mental health are Prince Harry, actor Dwayne Johnson, and dancehall deejay Konshens who staged an event recently in Kingston Jamaica to help raise awareness.

International Men’s Day aims to highlight the problem of toxic masculinity and other cultural barriers which may prevent men from seeking help for their mental health when they feel they need it.

Celebrated in over 70 countries across the world, International Men’s Day also recognizes the positive value men bring to the world, their families, and communities.
