The government has increased its projected expenditure by $33b.
This as additional funds will be put towards the government’s response to the current health crisis.
Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke also told parliament today, that revenues have been revised upwards by $33.5b.
Dr. Clarke said the government’s revenues exceeded budgetary targets by $17.3b in the first quarter of this fiscal year.
He said the allocation to the SERVE programme will increase to $75b.
Dr. Clarke added that $5.3b will go towards social assistance for the most vulnerable.
