First ODI between the West Indies and India ends in a draw

The first one day international between the West Indies and India ended in a no result this afternoon in Port of Spain.

The visiting Indians after losing the toss and being asked to take first strike made 199 for 3 after 39.2 overs before play was halted due to heavy rains which continued nearly two hours after play was stopped forcing the umpires to call off the contest.

Virat Kohli…..32 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni…..9 were the not out batsmen. the pair added 14 runs for the 4th wicket.

Shikhar Dhawan was the top-scorer with 87runs and he put on 132 runs for the 1st wicket with Ajinkya Rahane who made 62, while Yuvraj Singh made just 4.

Devendra Bishoo, Jason holder and Alzari Joseph have each taken a wicket.

Earlier play was also stopped after 38 overs with the score at 189 for 3.
