First shall not be the last – Subba

by August 31st, 2021

Its now back to the drawing board for Jamaican judoka Theador Subba following his first outing at the Paralympic level.

Subba produced a brave and creditable debut, however his efforts were not good enough to get him into the medal rounds of the 100 kilo division at the Tokyo games.

He first went down to the top seed Khei-rollah-zadeh Mohammad-reza from Iran to be knocked out at the quarter final stage – He also lost at the repechage round against Usbekistan’s Ilham Waza-ari to be denied a shot at the bronze medal.

Subba who ended with a ranking of 7th said its all about learning from the mistakes going forward.

Meanwhile coach Steven Moore is of the view that a match has been lit for the sport of judo in Jamaica and that there are more enquiries from persons who are showing an interest.
