The operator of the Montego Bay based Sangster International Airport is reporting that several flights have been cancelled, as a result of hurricane Irma.

MBJ Airports Limited says five airlines have so far grounded their planes and crew.

American Airlines has cancelled all flights as of today until further notice, spirit airlines have cancelled all flights through the weekend.

South West Airlines has cancelled flights for tomorrow and Sunday, so too has Caribbean Airlines.

Meantime, jet blue has cancelled all flights through to Monday.

Passengers and industry partners are being asked to make contact with the airlines directly for re-booking, and for further flight information prior to being transported to the airport.
