Floyd Reifer could be appointed full time head coach of the West Indies team ?

There are strong indications that Floyd Reifer could be appointed full time head coach of the West Indies team.

With all the talk that cricket West Indies could still be leaning towards a non-Caribbean born coach Refier has been earning the respect of the influential few following his role as interim coach during the just concluded series in Bangladesh.

Reifer who captained West Indies team briefly took over the reins of the Caribbean side from Stuart Law whose miserable run as coach with the regional side ended on the tour to Bangladesh.

Cricket Commentator Andrew Mason told Irie Fm Sports that with Reifer winning the T/20 series 2-1 against Bangladesh is a plus in any consideration going forward. ” He has got the goods, he is popular among the players and if you remember after winning the T/20 series recently Reifer was totally endorsed by Captain Carlos Brathwaite.”

Law  resigned as West Indies’ head coach after less than two years in the job. The 49-year-old later moved to England to take charge at Middlesex.

Despite a less than impressive record , Law was credited with improving West Indies’ standing in Tests during his time in charge, as well as securing qualification for the 2019 World Cup. He was also involved with moves to bring back a number of star players, such as Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard, after disagreements with the board.
