Former government minister Dr Paul Robertson dies following illness

Former government minister Dr Paul Robertson has died.

The People’s National Party in a press release last night disclosed that Dr Robertson died at the St Ann’s Bay hospital in St Ann, following a brief illness.

It noted that he served in various capacities, including: member of parliament for South East St Catherine from 1993 to 2007, minister of government with responsibility for several ministries, senator, and as vice president and general secretary of the party.

The party expressed condolences to the family and friends of Dr Robertson.

Meanwhile, party leader Mark Golding said that he was saddened by the passing of Dr Robertson, noting that he was a man of great integrity, whose contribution to the PNP and Jamaica’s democracy was immense.

And former leader of the PNP Dr Peter Phillips hailed him for the work done for both country and party.
