Former International Cricket Umpire Billy Doctrove elected president of Dominica Olympic committee

by May 24th, 2017

Former international cricket Umpire Billy Doctrove has unseated incumbent Felix Wilson to be elected president of the Dominica Olympic committee.

Doctrove received eight out of 14 votes from delegates at a meeting in Roseau.

Wilson, who had served as president since 1997, received just five votes while there was one spoiled ballot paper.

The 61 year old Doctrove is best known for umpiring the fourth test between England and Pakistan at the oval in 2006, where he and fellow umpire Darrell Hair ruled that the visitors had been involved in ball-tampering and awarded five penalty runs to England.
