Former Jamaica College coach Miguel Coley quarantined in the UAE

Miguel Coley, the former head coach of the all-conquering Jamaica College Manning Cup team, is now in quarantine in the United Arab Emirates where he has been serving as assistant coach for Bani Fas FC since last June.

Bani Yas, 9th on 23 points, has been idle since carving out a 2-1 win over Kalba on March 14 to break a run of three consecutive defeats.

Play in the league has been suspended by the federation for four weeks with the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country now at 98.

Coley who has remained at home since the suspension says he is doing everything to keep himself protected “I am presently quarantined at home” he said, “However I do go to the supermarket to get basic stuff.”

The former Reggae Boyz assistant also gave a peek into his daily routine “On those days, “I ensure that as I enter the apartment leave my footwear at the door, I take off my clothes, I wash my hands properly and I take a shower.”

Coley also revealed he “washed his hands” on a regular basis, ate “properly” took “Vitamin C” and kept “abreast of what” went on “his surroundings, Qatar – where his wife and daughter lives – and Jamaica.

As for the League, Coley, who led JC to five consecutive Manning Cup and Olivier Shield titles from 2013-2017, said it was “very competitive” and the aim for his young squad “is to finish in the top five.”

“We have started the second half of the season much better than last season, adding “we are a very young team, our average age is 23 years old – which is the youngest in the league – we are hoping to build so next year we can have a very good chance to win the competition.”
