Former Police Officer Shelian Cherine Allen who was found guilty of smuggling drugs into the United States is to be sentenced in court today, (June 15).

She faces up to 40 years in prison.

On February 3, the 42-year-old who pleaded guilty arrived at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on a flight from Montego-Bay.

Following an inspection by the United States Customs and Border Protection, it was revealed that Allen had packages of cocaine inside her vagina and her bra cups.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, Allen also had 90 pellets of packaged cocaine inside her stomach, which she had swallowed.

Allen was taken to a local hospital, where she expelled the pellets.

In total, Allen had over 1000 grams of cocaine on or inside her body when she entered the United States.

District Judge Rodolfo Ruiz II is to hand down the sentence today.
