Former Jamaica Labour Party candidate for South East St. Ann, Peter Fakhourie, has died.

He was 62 years old.

Fakhourie, the brother of Labour and Social Security Minister, Shahine Robinson, died yesterday after a long illness.

He contested the 2007 election on the JLP ticket, but lost to the People’s National Party’s Lisa Hanna.

Mr. Fakhourie was a board member of Jamaica Bauxite Mining Limited, as well as the Bauxite and Alumina Trading Company of Jamaica.
