Four more deaths as COVID 19 cases increase.

Four elderly women died from the Coronavirus on Tuesday. The deceased are an 87-year-old from Westmoreland and three others from Trelawny aged 71, 73, and 84.  Jamaica has now recorded 214 deaths from the virus.

The Health and Wellness Ministry says two of the deaths were previously under investigation.

In the meantime 39 new cases were recorded,  19  males and 19 females with  1 case under investigation. Their ages range from 8   to  92 years. The new cases push the total to 9,296.

St. James saw the highest number of cases with 12, Kingston and St Andrew 11, Trelawny and Westmoreland 5 each,  Hanover and St. Ann 2 each and Manchester and St. Catherine 1 each.

Meantime, 29 new recoveries have pushed the total to 4,666.  There are 4,297 active cases.

85 persons are hospitalized, 17 patients are moderately ill and 6 are critically ill.
