Fourteen deaths and 556 new COVID-19 cases reported

The Health Ministry is reporting 14 more COVID-19 related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,356.

 

The deceased are from Manchester, St. James, St. Elizabeth, St. Ann, Hanover and Kingston & St. Andrew. Three more deaths are now under investigation. Meantime, 564 more persons have been hospitalized with COVID-19.

 

Of those hospitalized, 123 are moderately ill, 88 are severely ill and 37 are critically ill.

 

And 556 covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, pushing the country’s case count to 60, 488. Of the new cases, 317 are females and 239 are males. They range in age from 65 days to 94 years.

 

The positivity rate is 38.7%.

 

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 117, followed by St. Catherine with 88. St. Mary and St. Thomas recorded no new case. Twenty-nine more persons have recovered pushing the tally to 47, 628.

 

A total of 11, 126 cases are active.
