by January 3rd, 2020

The parents of the teen girl who was shot and wounded, during an illegal gun salute on New Year’s Eve, said the child will be closely monitored for any changes in behaviour, arising from the wound to her forehead.

15 year old Abigail Mullings was among a group of young people standing outside her church in Mt. Salem, St. James, watching the fireworks, when she fell to the ground.

It was later discovered that she had been shot in the head.

She underwent emergency surgery to remove the bullet.

The teen’s father, Reverend Marc Mullings, who is the leader of the Emmanuel Chapel, told Irie FM News that, Abigail is recovering well.

Reverend Mullings said the family is thankful that the bullet did not damage the young girl’s brain.

He added that the family has been getting tremendous support.
