Senator Grant states that the decision to observe global 4H day came out of consultative meetings during a 4H summit held in South Korea last week.

During those meetings, Jamaica was chosen as the second chair of the global 4H movement.

Senator Grant says the summit sought to engage the over 7 million 4H members worldwide to intensify the 4H movement for a better future for the global community.

He told the senate that he was seeking their assistance in supporting the movement by supporting the tree planting exercise from today until Monday.

He says this move will also support the “Eat What We Grow” campaign, which is celebrating its 12TH anniversary.

Senator Grant adds that he is proud to know that the Jamaica 4H movement is creating a positive impact in Jamaica, with its focus on agriculture among youths.
