It was a golden day for Jamaica on day three of the IAAF Under 20 championships in Tampare Finland.

This as double Carifta Game sprint champion Brinnal Williams and joint World junior record holder Damion Thomas struck gold medals in their respective events.

Williams the youngest in the field at 16 years old romped to the victory in the women’s 100 meters final winning in 11.16 seconds.

It was a sweet victory for her coach and former World Champion Ato Boldon who was winning his first global title as a coach

Meanwhile Thomas added the world under 20 title to his world record by smashing the field to win the 110 meters hurdles ahead of his teammate Orlando Bennett.

Thomas clocked 13. 16 seconds for the win.

Bennett for his runner up spot clocked 13.33 seconds earlier Stacy Ann Williams ended in sixth place in the women’s 400 meters.

Williams clocked 53.23 seconds as India’s Hima Daas won in 51.46 seconds.

In the meantime national senior champion Christopher Taylor and junior champion Chantz Sawyers both made smooth progress to the final of the men’s 400 meters.

Taylor once again ran a well composed race to lead home the field in semifinal three in 46.18 seconds.

Sawyers ran 46.19 seconds and finished as runner up in his semifinal behind Jonathan Sacoor of Belgium who ran 45.72.
