As Jamaica approaches its 60th anniversary of independence, opposition leader Mark Golding is calling on the prime minister to bring the bill to parliament to make Jamaica a republic.

Speaking at a party NEC meeting on Sunday, Mr Golding said Holness must show the Jamaican people that he is serious about Jamaica becoming a republic.

Meantime, Mr Golding said its time for Jamaica to have a final court of its own making.
