The government is launching the National Identification System- NIDS, technical pilot,  today (December 13).

Prime Minister Andrew Holness notes that NIDS has been over 40 years in coming.

However, he states that the system is close to being nationally implemented.

Mr. Holness emphasizes that the authorities have done over and beyond what is required to have a safe system.
