Prime Minister Andrew Holness is urging unions representing public sector workers, to consider the government’s offer for the 2017/2019 contract period.

Several unions representing public sector workers have rejected the government’s 6 percent wage offer for the 2017/2019 contract period.

Mr. Holness says the government will move as quickly as possible to resolve wage talks with unions to reduce the financial risks.

In the meantime, Mr. Holness says his administration will seek to fast track dialogue with the unions.

He was speaking at a press conference at the office of the Prime Minister in Kingston this morning (Nov 17).
