Gov’t considering accommodating students from eastern Caribbean

by September 26th, 2017

Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government will look into the possibility of accommodating some students from the eastern Caribbean, who have been displaced by hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The matter was raised in parliament this afternoon (Sep 26) by Opposition Spokesman on Foreign Affairs Dr. Morais Guy who called on the Prime Minister to consider this, as part of the assistance especially to CAPE and CSEC students in Dominica.

This is in light of the devastation in Dominica and Barbuda and other countries following the passage of the two major hurricanes.

Dr. Guy suggested a facility, which he said, could accommodate students and teachers from Dominica.

Mr. Holness in responding says this is another area the government could explore for assistance.
