Govt. defends PM’s overseas trips

The government says the country has greatly benefited from trips by the Prime Minister in his first year in office.

Information Minister Senator Ruel Reid told the Senate this morning (May 12) that just under US $100,000 (over JA $ 12 m) was spent on ten trips for 2016.

The Information Minister was responding to questions posed by Opposition Senator Lambert Brown about the number and cost of trips made by the Prime Minister within the first ten months of taking office.

It was revealed that the Prime Minister took ten trips in the first ten months.
