The Government has launched an initiative which is expected to better screen candidates for public boards.

The initiative is dubbed ‘Corporate Governance Database of Prospective Directors’.

Speaking at the launch ceremony this morning (May 18), Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke noted that the initiative will guarantee transparency in selection.

Dr Clarke said public bodies are stewards of multi-billion dollar resources.

He said the initiative will also reinforce financial probity.
