Govt shares safety/ security plan with MoBay business leaders

National Security Minister Robert Montague has shared aspects of the country’s safety and security plan with business leaders of Montego Bay, St. James.

A meeting was held this morning (Nov 4) as a response to a call made by the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce, for government to share aspects of the country’s crime plan, so that business leaders can help with its implementation.

Mr. Montague says the government is committed to the safety and security of all Jamaicans.

He says aspects of the safety and security plan, coupled with other unidentified methods will be used to treat with the escalation of crime and violence.

He called on law abiding citizens to unite against crime and violence, to help win the fight against organized criminal gangs, which are creating mayhem in St. James.

Meanwhile, President of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry T’Shura Gibbs says the business community in St. James is happy with the initiatives presented.

Ms. Gibbs says the chamber will play its role in the implementation of the crime fighting initiatives, to restore order in Montego Bay.
