Director of the Court Administration Division (CAD), Tricia Cameron-Anglin, says an announcement will be made soon regarding an increase in the stipend offered to jurors.

This, amidst recent calls from stakeholders for the daily rate offered to jurors to be increased.

Speaking during ‘A Conversation with the Judiciary’ today, Mrs. Cameron-Anglin said representatives from the Ministry of Justice have been reviewing the stipend and will make an announcement soon.

Mrs. Cameron-Anglin also noted that the judiciary has expanded its jury pool, amidst challenges finding qualified persons to serve.

She indicated that there have been challenges in recent times with settling the juror list, and identifying where persons on the list are located, based on the addresses in the database used.

Mrs. Cameron-Anglin said steps have been taken to address these issues.
