by August 17th, 2018

The government says no one entity can do all that is needed to ensure the success of the nation’s children.

Speaking this morning (Aug 17) at the TIP Friendly Society Scholarship awards ceremony Minister of State in the Ministry of Education Floyd Green, pointed out that partnership is needed to build a strong education sector.

In addition, the minister says his ministry is proud of the students’ performance in both the Grade Six Achievement Test and the recently released Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination.

And, the State Minister says the thousands of jobs created by his administration since 2016 are in line with the Vision 2030 road map.

In an interview with Irie FM News this morning Mr. Green pointed that over 60,000 new jobs have been created since 2016.

According to Green, Jamaicans should strive to create a culture of excellence, as mediocrity should not be accepted.

He adds that with the country recording its strongest quarterly growth in two years, one of the key areas the ministry is focusing on is transitioning young people from training and into the working world.
