by May 4th, 2022

The Hanover Police are investigating a disturbance at the Hopewell High School yesterday (May 3) which led to the institution being closed early.

Several students were allegedly injured in the incident which is thought to be linked to gang activities.

Head of the Hanover Police Superintendent Sharon Beeput told Irie Fm News that one of the students involved in the disturbance, is the child of a suspected gang member.

She said the right initiatives will be undertaken if gang activities are found at the institution.

While noting that thorough investigations will be carried out, Superintendent Beeput said the area is more known for lottery scamming as opposed to gang violence.

She called on parents to do their best in steering their children away from both illegal activities.
