Hanover wanted man killed during confrontation with cops

A man listed as wanted by the Hanover police was shot and killed during an alleged confrontation with cops, in Green Island this morning (Sep 27).

A police officer was shot and wounded in the incident.

Dead is 25 year old See-I Williams, also called Rasta, of Upper Rock Spring, in Green Island.

Reports are that about 5:45 a.m. a team of officers went to a section of the rock spring community in search of Williams, who was wanted in connection with several crimes

Police say they came under heavy gunfire.

The fire was returned, and during the exchange Williams was fatally shot.

The police officer, who was shot and wounded, was treated and released. His wounds are not considered serious.

Police say a chrome 357 magnum revolver, loaded with 8 rounds of ammunition, was taken from Williams.

The Inspectorate of the Constabulary and the Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom) are probing the matter.
