Harry Kane is the world’s most valuable player, Raheem Sterling 11th

Jamaican-born England international Raheem Sterling is just outside the top ten according to a new ranking of the top 100 most valuable players in Europe’s big 5 leagues.

The Manchester City winger is ranked at number 11 with a valuation by the French based CIES Football Observatory of €155.1 million euros.

Brazilian superstar Neymar, who holds the record as the most expensive transfer in football history interestingly is not the most valuable player.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane occupies that position, valued at €201.2 million according to the exclusive CIES Football Observatory algorithm.

Neymar is €3.7 million behind in second with a value of €197.5 million.

Neyma’s PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe is third at (€186.5 million) followed by Lionel Messi (€184.2 million) and Liverpool star Mohammed Salah (€171.3 million).

Real Madrid star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the oldest player on the ranking, has dropped to 24th with a value of €103.4 million.

In the top ten positions are players from six countries: England (Kane and Dele Alli), Belgium (Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku), Argentina (Messi and Paolo Dybala), France (Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann), Brazil (Neymar) and Egypt (Salah).

With 16 players, France is the most represented country in the top 100.

The highest estimated values per position were recorded for Ederson Moraes (goalkeepers, €104.6 m), Samuel Umtiti (centre backs, €111.5 m), Kyle Walker (full backs, 89.8 m), Saúl Ñíguez (defensive midfielders, €100.5 m), Kevin de Bruyne (box-to-box midfielders, €167.2 m), Dele Alli (attacking midfielders, €171.0 m), Neymar (wingers, €197.5 m) and Harry Kane (centre forwards, €201.2 m).
