American premium cable and satellite television network HBO, has reportedly expressed interest in producing and documenting incarcerated dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel’s current murder conviction, and the outcome of his appeal.

One of Vybz Kartel’s attorney’s Bert Samuels has disclosed that HBO has reached out to him, and asked him to give them notice in advance so that they can be present at least 2 days before the Court of Appeal makes a final ruling.

Bert Samuels, says he believes, HBO wants to tap into the popularity of Vybz Kartel. And that by virtue of them committing to being present for a possible overturn of the convictions, and a release from prison, that it will make a big feature, and story for the network television.

Just last week, the Court of Appeal indicated via a letter to Vybz Kartel’s attorneys, that the forthcoming judgment is now at an advanced stage of preparation.

So, does that mean the will the judgment be handed down before the year ends?

In July 2017, attorneys representing Vybz Kartel, Shawn Storm, and their co-convicts, first appeared before the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn their convictions and sentences.

Vybz Kartel, Shawn Storm along with two other men were found guilty, and convicted in 2014, for the 2011 murder of a Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
