The Health Ministry will be pushing for the medicinal value of marijuana to be recognized as legitimate research and work.

Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says he will be visiting the World Health Organization assembly next week to lobby for the recognition of the medical properties of cannabis.

He says the Health Ministry will be pushing the agenda to have cannabis removed from the schedule which lists marijuana among narcotic substances.

He was speaking at a post sectoral press conference at Jamaica House in Kingston yesterday.
