by December 7th, 2020

Outspoken Dancehall deejay Spice claims she was racially profiled while doing Christmas shopping at a Walmart store in the United States.

Spice shared a video on her official Instagram page on Sunday explaining the saga to her over 3.2 million followers about being treated unfairly based on the colour of her skin.

In the video circulating on social media platforms, the entertainer said, while at the cashier paying for her items, she was told that according to Walmart’s policy, if a certain amount of money is being spent, it has to be checked by a second person.

Spice further explained that while the money was being counted she was questioned about two of the fifty dollars and why they looked different. According to Spice, she subsequently asked if they wanted a different fifty dollar note and reached into her purse.

In the video, Spice said she was offended by the situation.

This is not the first time Spice has publicly spoken out about being judged based on the colour of her skin. In 2018, she released ‘Black Hypocrisy’ a song about colourism from her album, ‘Captured’.
