Veteran journalist Ian Boyne has died.

He died this morning at the University Hospital of the West Indies in St. Andrew after a brief period of illness.

On December 3, Ian Boyne was rushed to hospital following a heart attack. He was then placed in a medically induced coma.

Ian Boyne was a veteran Broadcaster, Journalist, Author, Theologian and Deputy CEO of the Jamaica Information Service (JIS).

Entertainers Mr. Vegas and Tifa along with Jamaican track stars Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce have since posted messages of condolence on social media.
