Industrial action at Caribbean Products Limited expected to continue

by July 3rd, 2023

The industrial action taken by staff members at Caribbean Products Company Limited is expected to continue, as no resolution was reached at a meeting held today.

The workers withdrew their services today to register their frustration over the implementation of a flexible-work-arrangement.

They say the arrangement was implemented without proper engagement from the company.

Island Supervisor for Industrial Relations at the National Workers Union Khurt Fletcher told Irie FM News that workers who refuse to comply with the flexi-work schedule which comes into effect today were told their positions would be made redundant.

Mr. Fletcher said the parties were called to a meeting by the Labour Ministry this afternoon, however, no resolution has been arrived at.

He said another meeting is to be held tomorrow morning at 8:30.

Mr. Fletcher said until an agreement is reached by both parties, the workers will remain off the job.
